2023 GMC Jimmy: As previously reported by GM Authority, Flat Out Autos’ contemporary GMC Jimmy is a General Motors-derived alternative to the Ford Bronco in the off-road SUV segment. Now, official pricing information for the 4X4 Jimmy has been disclosed.
According to a Flat Out Autos social media post, the base price for the conversion is $129,950, which includes the purchase of a new 2023 GMC Sierra or 2023 Chevrolet Silverado. Flat Out Autos also offers enhancements such as a Fox suspension setup, roof rack, and packages of custom wheels and tires for an additional cost.
Seems content to let the sixth-generation Ford Bronco face his own Jeep Wrangler. The company left this market segment decades ago, but an Arkansas-based builder called Flat Out Autos brought the 2023 GMC Jimmy back for the SEMA 2022 event.
The modern 2023 GMC Jimmy largely reflects the Sierra 1500 being grounded from the end of the front bumper to the B-pillar. In addition, Flat Out Autos added a redesigned quarter panel, removed the partition between the cargo box and the cabin, and installed the rear seats.
It also developed a removable body-type hardtop that carried the silhouette of the truck in line with the second-generation 2023 GMC Jimmy. At the rear, the versatile tailgate of the MultiPro remains, and Jimmy maintains the Sierra rear bumper with integrated steps to every corner.
All said the conversion looks really good. We believe GMC could sell a lot if it decides to jump back into this segment. The interior is mostly Sierra fare, although the front seats are tilted forward and the carpet covers the cargo box and the inside of the tailgate.
Flat Out Autos hasn’t released any technical details yet, so there’s no word on what Jimmy is powered by. More details are likely to be announced in the weeks leading up to the SEMA 2022 event, which opens on November 1, and Flat Out Autos plans to build 25 units.

The store started with the new GMC Sierra 1500 Single Cab/Long Bed pickup, then trimmed it into a 5-foot 8-inch bed with true unibody construction.
A power-folding rear seat is added at the rear, while the roof is removable to provide an open-air experience, as desired. With the roof in place, we see a fairly large rear glass, with the right proportions and lines to make this rig into a modern Jimmy GMC.
Now, Flat Out is taking Jimmy GMC 2022 to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, with plans to include him in the annual Battle of the Builders competition. 2023 GMC Jimmy will be exhibited at the Flat Out Autos booth (Central Hall Booth #24675) along with the international Travelall Restomod 1968.
Flat Out Autos also stated that it will build 20 units of this impressive SUV next year, each of which will be produced next year. unique and tailored to your needs. client specifications, and so far the positive response shown by fans has been “overwhelming”.

As context, Flat Out Autos takes a GMC Sierra 1500 pickup with a Single Cab / Long Bed configuration, shortens the bed to 5 feet 8 inches, and creates a true unibody. There are power-folding rear seats, and the canopy is designed to be removable for an open-air experience if desired.
In addition, there have been rumors that additional 2023 GMC Jimmy variants will be available, including an extended-wheelbase variant and a four-door variant. Currently, however, only the single-cab model is available.
This custom SUV is based on the AT4 or Trail Boss trim levels and is propelled by the factory-installed 5.3L V8 L84, which generates 355 horsepower and 373 pound-feet of torque. Each unit, as anticipated of an all-terrain SUV, is equipped with a four-wheel drivetrain.
Flat Out Autos brought its GMC Jimmy build to the 2022 SEMA Show, where it was greeted enthusiastically by admirers. Flat Out Autos begins construction with a single-cab GMC Sierra or Chevrolet Silverado extended bed equipped with a 5.3-liter V8 and four-wheel drive. Next, the chassis is shortened using the stock suspension components, and the rear of the cab and the front of the Crew Cab bed are opened and structurally welded to the inner structure of the cab to complete the “Uni-Body.”
The rear of the truck is then fitted with a removable fiberglass roof that blends seamlessly with the vehicle’s lines. The standard material for the removable top is fiberglass, with visible carbon fiber and painted carbon fiber available as enhancements.
The rear of the Jimmy is completed in the same manner as the front, with all seating surfaces upholstered in Katskin leather. Depending on the customer’s preference, the exterior is designed with an AT4/Trail Boss grill and chrome bumpers or more elegant Denali or High Country chrome bumpers.

The custom builder is Flat Out Autos, based in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Flat Out has produced some pretty impressive builds, including the modernized K5 Blazer for SEMA, as well as a resto-mod 1967 Chevy Corvette, a custom Chevy C10 pickup, and a few others.
However, the next version of Flat Out Auto looks like a modern two-door Jimmy GMC with a removable roof. Flat Out posted a rendering of the concept on social media, and it definitely looked pretty good.
According to comments, it is likely that Flat Out Autos will also offer a modern version of the 2023 GMC Jimmy with extended wheelbase, and perhaps even a four-door body style. However, the main offer will be a single-cabin platform. Under the hood, the store will offer a Duramax HD powertrain as well.
Indeed, this may be very encouraging news for K5 Chevy Blazer fans who are disappointed with the reintroduction of the Blazers as a unibody crossover. Instead, this modern 2023 GMC Jimmy custom combines a short body and tall easel but is likely based on the same T1 platform as the GM’s full-size truck and SUV.
The front is also familiar, wrapped in the same fascia and style as the updated 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X. In fact, the rendering even shows an AT4X badge located in the lower corner of the driver’s side grille and on the door.
Indeed, this thing looks ready for off-road duty and includes red tow hooks, thick tires, and other rough item cues.
2023 GMC Jimmy AT4X
The all-new Chevrolet Colorado and 2023 GMC Canyon are now on public exhibit for the very first time, which is fantastic news for fans of General Motors’ midsize pickup trucks.

Nothing came from the factory for Jimmy but the folks at Flat Out Autos are again making new modern changes that bring back the fairytale name.
Tuning specialists have completed their custom build 2023 GMC Jimmy work which will be presented during this year’s SEMA where he will compete in the Battle of the Builders. Flat Out Autos shared the first real-life photo of 2023 GMC Jimmy being revived on Facebook and we have to admit that we really like it.
Judging by the reaction on social media, everyone loved what they saw and the company even said it was “nearly a million views in less than 24 hours with thousands of shares and hundreds of comments.”
This modern interpretation of the 2023 GMC Jimmy follows the original two-door truck recipe and combines it with a front fascia inspired by today’s GMC products. The front end has large C-shaped lights, a large grille in between, and the GMC logo is blackened in the middle.
There was a two-seater bench in the back and pulled it up, there was a center brake light on pillar B. It made sense to turn it off when the top was on, although we don’t know if that’s the case.
Behind the back seat, the cabin continues to where you usually find a cargo bed in such a large truck – which is why this area is actually upholstered.
Flat Out Autos also envisions a reborn 2023 GMC Jimmy with roof racks and rack-mounted tents. To some extent, the vehicle looks like a truck with a hard top – but when you take it off, you can get sunlight from the back seat making it half the car.
Unfortunately, we do not know whether the tuning company has plans to put this project into production. Maybe we’ll learn more when SEMA starts, so be sure to check the room again in early November for more details.
